March Favourites

I can't believe it's already the end of March. This month especially seems to have flown by and honestly I'm pretty happy about that because I can't wait for my long awaited two month trip back to the UK. Anyway, I thought I'd finally get around to doing another favourites post. My last was a winter favourites post, but I'm going to try to do these monthly now, depending on whether I have a decent amount to share with you, but I'm going to try.

Makeup Haul

I thought I would do a quick little post for you today showing you some of my recent purchases. If you've read a few of my past blog posts particularly my last, you'll know I'm a lover of foundations, and I'm always trying to find the best for my skin type. So of course there were going to be some in here, what did you expect from me?

My Most Reached for Foundations

Foundations are one of my biggest loves when it comes to makeup. I am constantly repurchasing them to find one that is the perfect match for my skin, not just for my tone but to find one that can help me combat my oily, acne prone complexion and hyperpigmentation I have. With that being such a tall order I've found some pretty good ones that work well for me so I thought I'd share them with you. I've put two drugstore foundations and two slightly more expensive foundations in here just to suit everyones price range!

Matte Nude Nails

I was looking through the new editions to the Essie collection, particularly browsing their matte collection because I love the look it gives, but don't own a single one. I found a few really pretty shades like 'Cashmere Matte' and 'Spun In Luxe' which were my two favourites. But I didn't want to be spending money on more expensive nail varnishes just for similar colours that I already own, the only difference being that these are matte. So originally I thought I'll look at less expensive brands and see if I can find similar matte colours. But I came across this top coat from Revlon....that makes any nail varnish you own, matte. I absolutely love this idea...It's like purchasing 30 new matte nail varnishes because I can just apply this on top of any nail colour I want and make it matte without having to buy separate ones!
(Count how many times I can say matte in this post...haha)

Tarte Glamazon Lipstick

Hello everyone,

It's been quite a while since I've sat down and actually typed up a post like this. Before my recent trip home to the UK I scheduled all my posts 2 a week (although I did miss a few, sorry!) so that I could just focus on being there and being with all of the people I love and not have to worry about getting some posts up. I hope you all enjoyed those, but finally I'm back and I have a post today about my first ever purchase of a Tarte Cosmetics product.

No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation Review

Hello everyone!
If you know me and my oily skin, you'll know I'm constantly on the lookout for a good foundation that will keep me matte all day. Obviously because the name of the foundation: 'Beautifully Matte' I was instantly drawn to this, and of course my love of No7 of a brand.

Mini Target Haul

Hello everyone!
I was wondering what kind of post to share with you today and I thought why not throw all three together! So in terms of the 'lifestyle' aspects in this post, I'm sharing my Target shopping obsession with you haha. But seriously though, I could spend hours upon hours there just wondering around and looking at all the bits and pieces they have. And possibly spending a little too much time in the makeup section.

I'm considering this post to be fashion and beauty because of the contents of this mini haul. I'll start with the white mesh pen holder. I'm not really thinking of using this as a pen holder but more so to hold makeup brushes, because if you were unaware I won the Style Of Colours collab giveaway with Nanshy and other bloggers. So because my other makeup holder as become slightly....crowded due to some other new additions I thought it was high time I opted for a new one to hold some new additions. The little 'notes' book you see there is really rather cute. If you follow me on instagram you will have already seen this little beauty in a picture as I had to show off how cute the cover is. In contrast to what it says on the front though, it really is more than just notes. It has a monthly planner in the front and contacts but largely just notes. I was looking for a 'planner' but I really did only need a by monthly planner rather than weekly because those slightly bother me. But I had to grab this because it's just so cute!

Anyway, next is the NYX Love in Paris eye shadow palette. I picked this up because I was in the market for a small little palette I could take with me on my trip back to England (which I'm already on by the time you're reading this, yay!) that was kind of small to pack up in my makeup bag, but has a lot of mutual shades, but also because I really wanted to try some more things from NYX as I've only ever tried their soft matte lip creams (which are excellent may I say).

Lastly, this beautiful jumper which you'll have already seen if you caught my 'Mock Neck Jumper Outfit' post. Can I just say, the bargains you can find in the Target sales are great. This jumper sets a great example being around $12.50 at 30% off! I love the way this jumper looks because like I've said before I love the mock neck jumper trend, but high necks don't always suit me so this is kind of more subtle but still follows the trend.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I'll see you soon!
#Let me know in the comments your favourite part of this haul.

Bare Minerals Loose Eyeshadow

Hello everyone!

If you've noticed from some of my previous 'makeup look' posts that I generally do seasonally, you may have noticed they don't usually contain a huge amount of eyeshadow if any. But over the past two months or so since I purchased an eyeshadow primer I have been playing around with different looks on a daily basis just to try and see what works for me and what I like the most etc, and I was only really doing this with a small palette I got a year or so ago. So I asked for a couple new eyeshadows for Christmas and received this lovely set from BareMinerals, so of course swatched everything on my hand immediately, however the immediate colour pay-off wasn't amazing so it took me a couple days before I actually decided to use them.

Despite not having the best pigmentation when swatched and I even had to build up the layers of the product on my hand just to get that photo. But I was pleasantly surprised when I started putting the product on my eyelids. They're not overly pigmented to the point where to you have to be really careful about applying it and where you get it. But with these they feel almost creamy, and are so soft and smooth to apply. Which in this instance I actually used my fingers to apply the lighter base colour 'Champagne Satin' because it felt so lovey haha.

The formula of these lasts all day long, of course I applied a primer before hand but even still it was the ELF mineral primer and my previous eyeshadows would still crease on my eyes by the end of the days, but these do not.

These are exactly the colours I would choose even if I hadn't received them in a set. I love neutral colours and I feel like they're definitely the easiest to wear. Not only does the lighter shade 'Champagne Satin' look great as a base for the eye, but would look great on its own or even as a highlight for the browbone and inner corner.

Champagne Satin
Smoky Amber
I am definitely sold for going and purchasing more of these. However, one thing I can say about these is that when you open them for the first time it can be a little tricky, or maybe it's just me haha. If you get stuck all you have to do is pull off the sticker covering the shadow. I know that sounds straight forward, but because there's an arrow on it I though you had to twist the pot to open it haha. So just be aware, but I'm sure you can figure out faster than I did.

Hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments some of your favourite eyeshadows.

Guest Post // Origins Checks and Balance

Hello Everyone! Today we have another guest post from Chen at 'Petite Smiles'. She is reviewing Origin's 'Checks and Balances' Cleanser for you and her personal experience with it!.
So please let me know in the comments if you like these type of posts! Enjoy!
Speak to you soon.

If you’re looking for a cleanser that leaves your face feeling squeaky clean, Origin’s Checks & Balances is the product you must try!

The packaging of Origin’s Checks & Balances comes in a 5 fl. oz tube that dispenses at the bottom – you simply squeeze the tube and the product comes out in a white form. The packaging is simple and is a transparent tube, allowing you to see how much of the product you have used and how much you have left. The tube is pretty secure and I have not experienced any issues with any of the product leaking. I love that the tube stands on its own without falling over at all.
Cost: I purchased this for around $25-30, which isn’t too affordable like drugstore products but aren’t too pricy. A 5 fl oz tube lasts more than a couple months!

Accessibility to Purchase: This product can be purchased online at the Origin’s website (they always have deals & samples!) and also various places, such as Macy’s, Sephora and more! Quite accessible – I never had issues locating this product to purchase!

Texture: The product comes out as a white soft gel that becomes foamy when used with water.
Scent: It’s slightly scented but nothing too extreme. It’s quite soothing!

Comfort: The product feels very smooth and soft. All you need to do is dispense a small dime-size amount of the product, lather with water and wash your face away! When you rinse your face, your skin is left squeaky clean – seriously!

Effectiveness of Product: Excellent! I love this cleanser. This is my third bottle because it makes my face feel so clean and rinses off so easy. I’ve had cleansers that are difficult to rinse off but this one comes right off, leaving you with soft baby skin.

Would I repurchase: Of course! This is my third bottle and I love it.
Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a nice cleanser that will leave your skin feeling clean and soft, you must try this product. I especially love foamy face washes and this one turns a little foamy when you use it. The only downside is that it may be a bit more expensive than drugstore cleansers, but it’s worth it! It can also be a bit drying, so make sure to use moisturizer afterwards! Other than that, I love how this cleanser leaves my skin feeling super clean and soft.

No7 Winter Makeup Look!

Hello everyone, Hope you're well. I have a post about one of my favourite makeup brands today, and one that I don't think gets mentioned enough in the beauty blogger world: No7. I have loved this company for many years now, and actually the first makeup piece I ever purchased was from them. A small little mascara that I used in the lower years of Secondary school, which was all I wore at that time.
