The Best Foundation for Combination Skin

024 Hawaii Macadamia

Having a very oily complexion the vast majority of the year, Winter makes for a slight difference for me in the sense that, I'm less oily, with it being mainly in my t-zone.

But I also get quite a few dry patches from the cold weather and such, which let's just say: makes the job of covering acne scars and keeping an evenly blended appearance across my face fairly tricky. I frequently get foundation clinging to my dry patches and it ends up just highlighting them, which doesn't give the best overall appearance, which is just what the Fresh Nude foundation ceases to do. But instead leaves a glowy and healthy appearance on the skin, avoiding the dull theme that a lot of people tend to gain over the Winter months.

I had the opportunity to try The Body Shop's most recent foundation collection. Including 16 toned shades, and two shade adjusting droppers:one dark, and one light that enable you to make the foundation tailored to your exact skintone. The Fresh Nude foundation is said to be enriched with English Rose Water and Aloe, that therefore increases the hydration in your skin. As something I'd usually steer clear of: being a 'dewy' foundation and therefore largely opposed to my usually matte finish: it provided something that really none of my other foundations can do: covered my dry patches and acne scarring. Now, this isn't to say that my foundation of £20+ can't cover my scaring, but with my dry element added to the mix, proves a challenge if I'm still trying to avoid the cakey effect.

For the price tag of just £15, this makes a great alternative to other higher price foundations, which in my opinion do just the same job. The only things I will say on the adverse of this foundation, because I really did love it, is that, blotting and powdering do have to take place a couple times a day to prevent being too shiny, but if you've read my posts before and you're familiar with my ramblings about my skin type you'll know I have pretty hard-to-control oil. It also, contrastingly to my holy grail; Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, does transfer on to tissues and such which isn't really a huge issue, but I only really noticed it because of my use of Double Wear,  the first thing I used it.
